Unlike ovens built from iron, concrete or grog, Alecook ovens are made from white refractory clay, a natural and durable material, which maintains a constant temperature for much longer than traditional ovens. With a single load of wood, you can use your oven to cook absolutely everything: bread, pizzas and pastries at peak temperature (350-450°C), and stews, bourguignons and slow-cooked dishes at lower temperatures (200°C).
This kit includes:
• The one-piece refractory clay oven with 8 cm thick walls
• The insulation (ceramic blanket) for the dome and the smoke hood
• The metal mesh to hold the insulation in place
• The stainless steel smoke hood, to be fitted and sealed in
• The flue regulating damper
• The thermometer, to be fitted into the masonry
• The steel door with heat-resistant glass, to be fixed to the oven mouth.
Use:
1- Feed the fire for about an hour and a half to reach a temperature of between 350 and 450°C (see the advice in our user manual)
2- Once the fire has gone out, the embers and the oven's inertia let you cook your pizzas, bread, roasts and pastries.
3- Once the temperature has dropped, you can take advantage of it for your slow cooking: stews, bourguignons, simmered dishes, etc.
To get the most out of it, read the user manual, where you will find the procedure for the first heating of the oven and advice on heating and cooking in your oven.
