Why Choose Our Firebricks?
High Alumina Content
Rich in alumina, our bricks offer remarkable resistance to pyroscopic stresses and thermal shocks. This mark of quality is essential for combustion chambers, where the temperature shows no mercy!
Our Craft Expertise
Drawing on our daily experience in building custom masonry heaters, we carefully select every material. We know these bricks inside out – and we are not just talking about heat!
French and German Production
By combining French ingenuity with German precision, we guarantee products suited to the most demanding requirements of masonry heater construction. The perfect combination for a durable, attractive result.
Types of Firebricks for All Your Applications
Versatile Standard Bricks
Essential for refractory masonry, our wide choice of sizes will let you find exactly what you need – whether for the core of your heater, a wood-fired oven, a pizza oven or even a weather-beaten barbecue.
Specific Bricks for Masonry Heaters
Ideal for connections, adding sweeping doors or creating attractive vaults, these specific bricks are designed to fit harmoniously into the complex parts of your installations. They are simple to lay and give a neat finish, combining performance and design.
Multiple Applications
- Pizza and Bread Ovens: Our bricks ensure optimal heat retention and distribution, essential for even, flavourful baking.
- Masonry heaters, Fireplaces, Open Hearths: They enhance safety and efficiency by storing heat for gentle release into your home.
- Masonry Barbecues: Designed to withstand the weather, they guarantee exceptional outdoor cooking performance.
Installation Tips for an Optimal Result
- Choice of Refractory Mortar: To guarantee the adhesion and durability of your work, choose a mortar specially formulated to withstand the same temperatures as our bricks.
- Respect Expansion Joints: Remember to allow suitable joints to accommodate thermal expansion and avoid cracks – the slightest oversight and something breaks!
- Regular Maintenance: Even the toughest bricks deserve a little help from time to time to maintain their performance in the long term.

How to choose your firebrick?
According to use. For the floor of a bread oven or pizza oven, choose dense bricks and refractory slabs: they store heat and release it evenly into the dough. For a fireplace firebox or an insert, dense bricks and split tiles protect the masonry from the flames. For a masonry heater, firebox and heat-storage bricks store the heat from a fire and release it for hours.
According to alumina content. Our products contain 35 to 40% alumina: the higher the content, the better the brick withstands high temperatures and repeated thermal shocks.
According to format. Around the standard 220 × 110 mm format, thicknesses range from 30 mm (split tiles) to 50, 60 and 90 mm; wedge bricks, lintels, corner bricks and shaped pieces allow vaults, edges and flue starts to be handled neatly, without risky cutting.
With the right binder. A firebrick is laid with a fire-resistant binder: refractory mortar or castable, refractory adhesive or grout, or a mix based on clay and grog for traditional builds — never a standard cement mortar, which crumbles under heat.
Frequently asked questions about firebricks
Which brick should I choose for a bread oven or pizza oven?
A dense brick with 40% alumina for the floor and the vault: it withstands repeated temperature rises and releases even heat, the key to consistent baking.
What is the difference between a dense firebrick and high-temperature insulation?
A dense brick stores heat and releases it (firebox, oven floor, heat-storage mass); high-temperature insulation does the opposite: it blocks heat to protect the walls and limit losses. A well-designed structure combines the two.
Which mortar should I use to lay firebricks?
A refractory mortar suited to the temperature of the structure, laid in thin joints. Ordinary cement mortar must be avoided: it cracks and crumbles from the first firings.
Can I buy individually, by the pallet, with cutting?
Yes. All our bricks are available individually or by the pallet, with a cutting service on request and craftsman's advice by phone to size your project.
What is the difference between a firebrick and an ordinary brick?
Firebricks are designed to withstand extreme temperatures (up to 1750°C) thanks to their high alumina content, unlike standard bricks, which crack under intense heat.
Can I use the same bricks for every part of my masonry heater?
Each zone of a masonry heater has its own specific requirements. For the combustion chamber, choose bricks with a high alumina content, while for the flue gas zones and the heat-storage mass, higher-density bricks are recommended.
How many firebricks do I need?
The number of bricks varies according to the project. Contact us for a personalised estimate.
