Product overview:
Clay pellets, also known as expanded clay pellets, are small clay balls often used for thermal and acoustic insulation in buildings. They can be used to fill cavities in walls, floors and roofs, as well as to insulate flues.
The thermal and acoustic properties of clay pellets make them a material of choice for insulation, as they offer excellent insulation against heat, cold and noise.
They are also resistant to mould, insects and rodents, and do not settle over time, guaranteeing long-term insulation performance.
Calculating the volume of clay pellets needed for your installation:
To determine the number of bags of Biafeu needed for filling, you must first remove the roof outlet fitting and make sure the flue liner is centred in the flue.
The volume to be filled (in litres) is the volume of the chimney – the volume of the flue liner
Calculating the volume of the flue block/chimney (in litres):
(Internal width (cm) x internal length (cm) x internal height (cm)) /1000
Volume of the flue liner (in litres):
3.14 X [Inside diameter of the flue liner ² (in cm) x height of the flue liner (in cm) / 4] / 1000
Then divide the result by 50 (the volume of one bag) to get the number of bags needed.
