👉 The 304 stainless steel cap is an essential component for finishing the top of the lined chimney flue, in accordance with DTU 24.1.
It serves several purposes:
➡️ Protection during sweeping: This is its main role. When the sweeping brush passes through, the bristles may catch and tear the inner strip of the flexible liner (especially at the top flue outlet). The cap covers the end of the flexible liner to guide the brush through without damage.
➡️ Holding the liner: The TEN cap has small internal metal lugs that "clip" onto the coils of the flexible liner, providing an excellent mechanical hold.
➡️ Sealing and finish: It gives a clean finish at the top of the chimney stack.
➡️Cowl support: It provides a stable base for fixing the chimney cowl (Chinese hat, anti-downdraught cowl, etc.).
⚠️ TEN flexible flue liner accessories may be compatible with other brands of flexible liner provided they have the same internal / external dimensions.
