Overview:
Made solely from pure kaolin clay, this grog fired at 1500° C no longer contains any organic or pathogenic element. Its main use is the making of refractory mortars used for the masonry of fireboxes, ovens and barbecues. Its refractory quality comes from its high alumina content of 40 to 42%, which allows it to withstand very high temperatures of up to 1750° C.
Composition:
Al2 O3: 42.70%
Si O2: 53.50%
Ti O2: 1.70%
Fe2 03: 1.70%
Fields of application:
- Making thin joints (2 / 3 mm) for laying the bricks / slabs of fireboxes, ovens and barbecues.
- Making a bed of grog for dry-laying oven floors.
- Filling various cavities.
To make refractory castables and cast parts, slabs, etc.: the grog is to be mixed with a calcium aluminate cement for example, in the proportions of one part cement to three parts grog.
Instructions for use:
- Use on its own to fill cavities and make a "bed" for dry-laying an oven floor.
- Use as an aggregate, mixed with a binder (such as refractory cement, lime, clay, etc.) to make a refractory mortar.
Packaging:
This grog is supplied by the unit, in 25 kg bags.
Storage:
Grog keeps indefinitely when stored away from damp, frost and sunlight.
