👉 The adaptor or Male / Male sleeve in 2 mm black painted steel is used when connecting the wood stove's flue pipe and allows you to reverse the direction of the pipe joints (switching from a female to a male connection) or, for example, to join 2 female sections together.
🔥As a reminder, flue pipes must be installed in the direction of the condensates, i.e. male end downwards.
➡️ Coated with a black Senotherm paint that needs to be brought up to temperature to be "cured", it can be useful to get a refractory spray paint for a few touch-ups during installation.
What are the advantages of 2 mm painted steel?
✅ Withstands high temperatures of up to 1000°C.
✅ Does not deform under the effect of heat
✅ Substantial 2 mm thickness that ensures robustness and safety over time
✅ Excellent value for money
⚠️ Reminder of the safety distances according to the NF DTU 24.1 standard:
The safety distance to be kept between a single-wall connecting flue pipe and a combustible material (plasterboard, panelling, PVC, OSB, etc.) is 3 times the nominal diameter of the pipe, with a minimum of 37.5 cm.
However, this distance can be reduced to 1.5 times the diameter of the pipe (with a minimum of 20 cm) by using insulation such as calcium silicate boards (fitted with an air gap) or wall protection boards with built-in insulation.
🔥2 mm painted steel flue pipes are designed to operate under N1 (40 Pa) sealing conditions up to 600° (T600) but can withstand temperatures of up to 1000°C.
