👉 This 1KL cooking ring, also called a hotplate, is made entirely of cast iron: it therefore withstands high temperatures and stores heat to release it evenly and for a long time.
Ideal for simmering, this 205 mm diameter cooking ring is one of the components of the cast iron hob plates HTT 1A and HTT 5A.
Technical characteristics:
✅ Outer diameter: 205 mm
✅ Inner diameter: 181 mm
✅ Total thickness: 22 mm
✅ Weight: 2 kg
✅ Ribbed underside for better heat distribution
Fitting advice:
🔥 When designing, always allow a small expansion gap (a few millimetres) between the cast iron plate and the frame in firebricks or refractory stone. Cast iron expands when it heats up: without a gap, it could crack your masonry.
We therefore recommend using a glass fibre rope and/or a refractory sealant to allow for this expansion and ensure a perfect seal.
Care advice:
➡️ Before first use, rub the rings with a little vegetable oil and heat gently: this creates a natural protective layer against corrosion.
➡️ For cleaning, a simple brushing is enough.
⚠️ Avoid thermal shock and never pour cold water on a hot plate, as this could crack the cast iron.
