Overview:
Texfire is a sealant that can be injected into narrow cracks or joints and can be applied to all substrates. It easily fills any void or gap and can also be used to make small custom shaped parts.
Fields of application:
Texfire is used mainly for sealing fireplaces, stoves, ovens, chimney flues, firebricks, walls and fire-stop joints:- Insulating the passages of oven control elements.
- Insulating and jointing burner blocks.
- Hot patching of boiler or oven linings of all types, whether fibre, brick or castable.
- Various seals.
Composition:
Texfire is composed of sodium mixed with inert minerals. Contains no asbestos
Instructions for use:
- Open the cartridge with the threaded nozzle pointing downwards, then fit the tip. The joints must first be cleaned, degreased and dusted. Before applying the product, it is advisable to dampen the areas to be treated.
- Work the product deep in using a pump or a gun, and immediately after application smooth the product with a spatula or a damp cloth, removing the excess with water before it hardens.
- Leave the product to dry for 24 hours, then heat slowly until it hardens.
- If necessary, the product can be removed with water before it hardens.
Important notes:
- During the drying phase, small cracks may appear, caused by the physical shrinkage of the product: it is important to eliminate them for good by reapplying product over the hardened product, without causing any collateral risk.
- The water contained in the sealant will escape through the openings as steam.
- Not suitable for expansion joints, nor for applications in damp places or places exposed to the weather.
Packaging:
500 gram cartridge (for a standard gun), sold individually or in a box of 12.
Storage:
Texfire keeps for 1 year, away from moisture, frost and sun. Storage temperature is 10°c to 25°C.
